I woke up this morning at 8:30 and I had something known as a hangover. Actually, let me rephrase that, I didn't have a hangover. I woke up and I was still drunk. Last night and early into this morning I had quite a few rum and cokes, several more than I had planned. I was in no shape to attend my 10 a.m. class but I had a quiz that I couldn't miss so I made the trek across campus and aced my quiz. I'm ready to do it again this weekend.
So the moral of this story is that Sailor Jerry's Spiced Rum gets the job done.
Also, the UNH men's hockey team has their opening round game tonight against Cornell at 6:30 on ESPNU, channel 54 on campus. I expect everyone on campus to be watching that game and getting hammered. Last year's opening round game was unbelievable and I am interested to see how the team reacts after falling to Vermont in the Hockey East tournament.
I will never get tired of watching this:
Have a good weekend UNH. Party hard, stay smart, stay safe and most importantly:
Stay classy, not UMassy.

Drink Of The Week: Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum
Sailor Jerry's is my new favorite reasonably priced rum. By a long shot. I had it for the first time last weekend and I achieved great levels of drunkenness. I can't believe I had missed out on Sailor Jerry for so long. At about $18 a bottle (750 ml) it is a few dollars cheaper than Captain Morgan's or Bacardi. And it comes in a way cooler bottle. The original Sailor Jerry was considered the father of old school tattooing and if there was ever a man to name rum after it was him. Total Badass. Sailor Jerry's is 92 proof, or 46% alcohol, so it is also stronger than your average rum. However, that doesn't show in the taste. With any alcohol you get that little after burn, but unlike most cheap alcohol Sailor Jerry delivers some nice flavor with it. Whether you like to take shots or mix your rum with some coke, Sailor Jerry's is the way to go.
This is some legitimate rum here, I'm not talking about Malibu or Parrot Bay, this stuff is what pirates would drink. Why is the rum gone you ask? Because it was so good I drank it all. Strong, smooth, and a little spiced. Mmm! Another good thing about this rum is that it didn't come with a terrible hangover that I kind of expected after a night of drinking 92 proof rum. Since it doesn't taste like acid dog pee your drunkitude might take you by surprise when you stand up, so make sure you got your sea legs before you trek to DHop.There is also a good chance you'll end up on the floor a drink or two earlier than usual because that extra 12 proof (compared to the average hard alcohol drink) doesn't seem like much, but it adds up. If you're not careful it can kick your ass, but I think everyone is in need of a good ass kicking once and a while. It doesn't taste overly sweet and the best part is it doesn't have that gross cocoanut rum taste like "chick" rums do. I was mixing it pretty strong with some diet coke and I loved the taste, but I'll admit it got better as the night went on.

I have one question this morning...
Why is the rum gone? I realize that it is almost 3 in the afternoon, but I'm still calling it morning. Yesterday I was intoxicated from about 2:30 pm until passing out close to 3 this morning. It was a day/night that involved lots of rum, basketball, more rum, weed, more rum, cheesy fries and passing out with my laptop on the top bunk. (I really wanted to watch Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas because it was on Hulu.) I vaguely remember about the first 2 minutes of the movie. I awoke two hours later with the laptop inches from falling. I really lucked out there. I also finally reached one of my all time goals as a UNH student:
Smoking a joint in the middle of the Upper Quad.
Suck on that RA's and Cops! I win. What's up with that? Are there not enough trees for you to hide behind in the quad? I'll admit it probably wasn't my brightest idea (probably worst idea ever, actually) but still. I win. I think it proves that old saying that the best places to smoke on campus are usually the worst, because if your friend knows about this "awesome spot in the woods" (cough by Stillings or behind Ham Smith) the cops probably (definitely) know about them too. The best places are where kids usually smoke cigarettes because from a distance no one can tell the difference. As long as you keep an eye on the street and are aware of your surroundings it can be done. Just make it quick. Plus, walking out of the woods is probably the most suspicious thing you can do on campus. Honestly though, if you're going to smoke on campus go to a friend's apartment or house or invest in a vaporizer. I also just came across several pictures and videos from last night. I considered posting them but I would rather have friends.
