We're Back!

The "Spring" semester has started and Dirty Durham is once again crawling with students. It's good to be back. I started the semester off well with two of the drunkest nights of my life celebrating a new roommate and another's 21st birthday. There are currently 6 empty 30s in our recycling, along with a bottle of Jager, and about 30 various bottles of Smuttynose. Then of course the are the two handles of whisky still in the freezer. We've made some pretty good progress.  Apart from apparently not having a meal plan (I switched mine to the 150 swipe/$365 dining dollars option, but there aren't any swipes on the card. Weird, because I got all the dining dollars) things have gone very smooth.

In other news SCOPE is announcing a new show in a week. I'm dying to see what direction they will go. I've heard a few rumors, but I really don't think the person had any real evidence.

It might be a few days for things to pick up on the blog. The best blogs are when things happen around campus, so go out and make some news. Send all your tips, pictures and questions to unhblog@yahoo.com... I have a few new ideas in store for the semester and we might have a new writer starting in February for the rest of the year. More on that when we go over the final details.

Also, if you're into the hockey team check out this video on the STD line. I plan on writing more about the team for the rest of the season so hopefully they'll keep winning.

Stay classy, not UMassy.

  1. Why do you keep your whiskey in the freezer?

  6. This is anonymous #1. I do not go to UMaine and frankly I am perplexed at to why that question would cause anyone to think that is the case or to why is would prompt a couple of 'derrs'. It is unusual to keep whiskey in a freezer, the cold dulls the taste, so I am going to guess TNHite is probably drinking some low quality whiskey and adding something to it when he drinks it. That is fine. He is in college, drinking low quality alcohol is his prerogative. But I take exception to anonymous #3 implying I am a dumb-ass for drinking my whiskey like the rest of the fucking world.

  7. He's actually right about that. It does dull the taste. We do keep cheaper whiskey in the freezer, but when we get nicer stuff we don't...
