The Art of: The Motivational Speech

Over the history of time there have been thousands inspirational speeches that have provided quotes for others to live by. There was Dr. Suess with "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind" speech. Thomas Edison also had a few, perhaps his most famous included the line "Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up." I have narrowed down all of the great motivational speeches in Hollywood and I present to you: The New Hampshrite's Top 5 Movie Motivational Speeches.

5) Sylvester Stallone as Rocky Balboa in Rocky Balboa. What makes it great: It makes me want to be better.
4) Chris Farley as Matt Foley SNL. What makes it great: It may not be a movie but it is truly a comedy classic. You can't talk about motivational speakers without mentioning Farley.
3) Denzel Washington and Will Patton as as Coach Herman Boone and Coach Bill Yoast from Remember the Titans. What makes it great: This movie is full of motivational/inspirational moments. But on this list it comes it at number 3, even with a 2 for 1.
2)R. Lee Ermey as  Sergeant Hartmen in Full Metal Jacket. What makes it great: It is the classic 'break 'em down to prove me wrong style." A must see movie and a must see clip.
1) Emilio Estevez as Coach Gordon Bombay in D2: The Mighty Ducks. What makes it great: See for yourself, truly epic.
USA! USA! USA!

As a side note, that is one diverse hockey team! Texas, Miami, South Central LA!

Stay classy, not UMassy.
