Monday Weekend Review

Well, I had quite the eventful weekend. Sadly, I lost my own drinking game. I did not get more drunk than that squirrel. However, I did get drunk though so it wasn't a complete failure. And there was a nice hockey game Saturday so that was awesome. Hint: If any of you are hockey fans keep an eye out for Tuesday's column in TNH... I do however have some big news about the blog.

I bought a legitimate URL. The blog is still run through blogger/blogspot and if you use the old URL you will still be directed to the the blog. It will take up to three days for the official transition/transaction but the blog will be "unhblog.com." It is already working for me and my friends down the hall, but it could take longer to reach the world-wide audience. I feel like it means the blog is more official or legit, but I did it for you so you have fewer letters to remember. It will make advertising easier (and in the long run cheaper.) Plus it shows up faster if you just google search "UNH blog."

... by the way, I still get at least 5-10 hits a week from people who search "UNH Porn," some people just make me wonder...

You all remember how I always use the sign-off "Stay classy, not UMassy?" Well, a recent article from Fox 25 proved my point. Four UMass football players have been arrested and suspended for class B drug possession. In Massachussetts class B drugs include: Cocaine, LSD, Ecstasy, Oxycontin/oxycodone hydrochloride, Amphetamine, & Methamphetamines. I'm guessing it was probably some type of oxycontin because that shit will make you fell numb all over, which would probably feel good after a rough football game. I once took oxycontin that was prescribed after I had jaw surgery two summers ago and it fucked me up. I had to stop taking it because I kept puking because I couldn't eat anything because my jaw was broken in four fucking places. You would think the doctors would have thought of that. Most miserable 6 weeks of my life.

While on the topic of drugs (and me being angry), over $9,000 of marijuana plants were found being grown right down the street in Rochester. This means that some students may have to look other places to help with their "glaucoma" or "anxiety."

Before I go I would like to give a shout out to my boy HH who took a hell of a hit (actually two) in flag football Sunday afternoon. He was brought to the hospital for a concussion by ambulance and returned to campus about five hours later. He was involved in two accidental collisions and after the second one he didn't get up. He remained conscious for the whole time, but was unresponsive. He is a committed blog reader and a good friend of mine so I wish him a speedy recovery.

Today's song of the day is from the bluegrass/folk/Americana group known as "Old Crow Medicine Show" with their song "Methamphetamine." I felt it would be appropriate because of those UMass football players.
