Health Services: Just admit it, UNH likes to drink.

"Most UNH women (64%) drink 0-4 drinks when they party."

...And 98% of UNH guys read this and think "So, I have a 36% chance of hooking up after a party."
I hate to be repetitive (I basically blog about 3 things if you haven't caught on yet) but every time Health Services releases one of these statistics I can't help but laugh. I mean 36% is over 1/3, not to be judgmental, but  most for most girls 5 or more drinks can be a lot. I am not exactly Shane Macgowan when it comes to drinking, but I like to think I can handle my alcohol pretty well. 5 beers or shots will give me a decent buzz, and 5 mixed drinks can get most people sloppy (depending on what alcohol and how much. If there is one thing I have learned at UNH it is that we like our mixers strong.) I'm about 5'11, so imagine what 5 (or more drinks) can do to the average UNH female. I would like to know what people think of this, is 5+ drinks a decent amount for the average female, or male? Like I said, it definitely depends on what you define as "a drink" and I think that could make these statistics a little fuzzy. Also, I don't know what other people are like, but I usually drink less at a party compared to just a gathering of a few friends, so it also depends on what you define as "partying." Like does me drinking a fifth of rum in my room by myself count as a party?

Of course Health Services is making the point that the majority of girls on campus who do party don't drink too much, but sometimes a little analysis (exaggerated or not) can show the true colors of UNH party goers.

PS: Health services that shouldn't be a cocktail glass, it should be a Poland Springs bottle filled halfway with vodka.

Stay classy, not UMassy.
